Jehovah-El Elyon

Genesis 14:19 (KJV)
19 And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth:

“El” expresses strength, might or power, or by extension, deity. “Elyon” means the supreme or the most high. When they are used together then it expresses that there is none higher and there is nothing that can be compared. It captures God as the highest authority in the affairs of mankind and in all nature. Who could be higher than the God who framed the worlds just by speaking them into existence by his word? He is the highest power, “And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent (all powerful or all ruling) reigneth.” Paul wrote to Timothy, “That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ: Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;” This reveals that Jesus Christ is the visible of an invisible God. Matthew recorded the words of Jesus, “All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.”  There is no other who should receive praise or glory. John recorded an event that will take place (Revelation 7:9-12)“After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; 10And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb. 11And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God, 12Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.” He is our blessing and deserves our honor. He is the Most High God. You are blessed just by knowing him. Receive your blessing of knowing who the Lord God is, and was, and is to come.

Jehovah-elohim

Deuteronomy 10:17 (KJV)
17 For the LORD your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible, which regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward:

We serve an awesome God. He is before all things because he is eternal; the beginning and the end. He is the source of all things because he is the creator; the world was framed by the word of God. He upholds all things; he is the sustainer of all that he created. He is omniscience because he knows all the things; the past, the present, and the future. He is omnipresence because he fills the whole earth with his glory. The Psalmist David said there is nowhere he can go, and the Lord God is not there. God is a Spirit and he is everywhere. He is omnipotent; all powerful and there is nothing too hard for the Lord. With men things can be impossible but with God all things are possible. He is the one and only true God who robed himself in flesh. Paul wrote to Timothy, “And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.” There is only one who fits these criteria:  The Lord Jesus Christ. In the end time he will sit upon a white horse and will be called Faithful and True, his eyes are as a flame of fire, his wears a vesture dipped in blood and he is also called The Word of God, on the vesture and on his thigh is written, King of kings, and Lord of Lords. We serve an awesome God. He is the giver of all blessings. Worship and glorify him today and receive your blessings.

Ecclesiastes 8:16-17 (KJV)
16  When I applied mine heart to know wisdom, and to see the business that is done upon the earth: (for also there is that neither day nor night seeth sleep with his eyes:)
17  Then I beheld all the work of God, that a man cannot find out the work that is done under the sun: because though a man labour to seek it out, yet he shall not find it; yea further; though a wise man think to know it, yet shall he not be able to find it.

The wisest of all men, Solomon, was observing the activities of mankind one day to load up on wisdom and examine everything that was taking place on the earth. In his observation he noticed that the business of men seemed to never stop. They work day and night, some going without restful sleep because they are so consumed by their business. Others go without sleep searching to figure out the meaning of God and all His work, but Solomon realized that no matter how hard man labored to discover that knowledge he would never be able to attain it. God knows everything: past, present, and future and no “one” person will ever have that kind of wisdom, understanding, and knowledge. The Psalmist David wrote about God’s all-seeing providence in the 139th Psalm. He made the statement that the knowledge of the Lord was so wonderful, it is high, he could not attain it. It was written in the book of Isaiah that the Lord’s thoughts and ways are higher than any man’s thoughts or ways. It is in Ecclesiastes 9:1-2 that Solomon continued his thought on the matter, For all this I considered in my heart even to declare all this, that the righteous, and the wise, and their works, are in the hand of God: no man knoweth either love or hatred by all that is before them. 2All things come alike to all: there is one event to the righteous, and to the wicked; to the good and to the clean, and to the unclean; to him that sacrificeth, and to him that sacrificeth not: as is the good, so is the sinner; and he that sweareth, as he that feareth an oath.” The simplicity and sum of Solomon’s wisdom can be found in the words of Jesus, “That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.” Humanity does not need to know all things, just trust the One who does. Accept the blessings as they come, learn by them to trust Him more. Receive your blessings today and walk by faith and not by your own understanding.
