3 O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.

30 I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving.

Acts 10:44-46 (KJV)
44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.
45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.
46 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,

The act of magnifying someone is promoting them, acknowledge them with great importance, or to praise as powerful. The Psalmist is welcoming us to praise the Lord with him by exalting the Lord’s name and by being thankful. To magnify is to give the highest of praise. You can praise the Lord with words of adoration or with a song. In the New Testament when Peter was preaching to the Gentiles the Holy Ghost fell on the crowd in such a miraculous move of God that those who were present received the gift of the Holy Ghost. They began to speak in a language they had not learned and were magnifying God with praises. Allowing the Spirit of the Lord to flow through you in such a magnificent way is a joy that is unspeakable and full of glory. There is no greater experience then to submit yourself to His Wonderful Spirit and feel His overwhelming presence not only moving through you but around you.  There is a peace that settles on your heart and mind that is so awesome. You cannot help but “magnify” the Lord. This is an experience that does not happen just one time but can be an every day blessing. There is nothing like starting the day with the flow of His Spirit in your life. It sure opens the door for the blessings to flow in the right direction. Magnify the Lord with me and receive the blessings that are flowing into your life.

Morning Devotion 11/29/2017

John 10:27-30 (KJV)
27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.
30 I and my Father are one.

What a wonderful promise to those who are counted among the sheep of the Lord. The Lord is our Shepherd and we are the sheep of His pasture. The closer you get to the Lord the better you can hear His voice when He calls. He knows every hair on your head, the ones that fell out and the ones growing back in (or not). The Psalmist David wrote that the Lord knows when you sit down, and he knows when you get up. He is acquainted with all your ways, whether they are good or bad. He knows your thoughts and the intent of your heart. Jesus said he would never leave you nor forsake you. There is no where you can go that you will not be in the presence of the Lord. Many have tried to run away from the presence of the Lord but the best they can do is fill their mind with the things around them to drown out His voice; letting the things of this world to encumber you from listening to the voice of the one who loves you very much. The best thing that could ever happen in your life is to be in the hand of Jesus Christ. You are safe in His hand and no one can pluck or forcibly seize you from His hand. How big is the hand of God? Isaiah gave us some insight on the hand of God, “Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance?” We know that God is a spirit and He fills all heaven and earth but poetically it can only be described by human imagination.  The reality of the hand of God is the hand of Jesus Christ because He was God manifested in the flesh, the visible of the invisible God. Now through His Spirit our hands are an extension of the hands of God to those in need. It is through us that others learn to hear His gentle voice by our kindness to others. It is through us that others learn to be joyful by watching us live a victorious life. It is through us that others learn to live in peace when they see us face the storms of life with a smile. It is through us that they can live with strength because they see our faith during adversity. It is through us they learn to receive their blessings because they see us being blessed. There are blessings for everyone, just believe.

1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!

Ephesians 4:3, 13 (KJV)
3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

1 Corinthians 1:10 (KJV)
10 Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

Unity is a rare gift in the midst of several people gathered together. Unity is harmony, unison, union, or one accord. It is the result that two or more people want to achieve when they are working on a project together. Sometimes unity involves collaboration for a period of time because each individual is different in their opinion on a particular subject. Some like blue while others like purple or red or white, some like their tea cold while others prefer it hot, some like a bold statement while someone else prefers it to be more mellow, and well…..you get the picture. It is difficult for everyone in the same room to agree exactly like someone else. There have been marriages, family in general, churches, etc. that have split because they could not come to an agreement. There is always a give and take, a road of compromise that helps for a project to find the harmony it needs to succeed. It is especially important that we endeavor to arrive at unity in a peaceful manner. It is a sign of maturity when we are not so narrow minded and look at the whole picture and everyone’s input. It is a pleasant meeting when we fully understand each other’s ideas or input because everyone pulling together could launch a major operation that could be the good for everyone.  “It’s my way or the highway!” is an immature quote from those who have the same mind as Lucifer.  It was not enough that he was one of the highest-ranking angels with a purpose of leading the entire heavenly music program. He could not just do his part but thought he had to be a god, too. Look where that got him. Arrogance is a killer for unity because the egotism does not leave room for anyone else. It is a rebellion starter. The Lord said, “Come now, and let us reason together: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land:” When someone does not want to change because it might ruffle their feathers is losing out on so much. There are so many blessings to those who strive to live in unity with the bond of peace. Endeavor to live in unity and let the blessings of peace, joy, and love flow into your life.
