Psalm 57:7-8 (KJV)
7 My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise.
8 Awake up, my glory; awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early.

Psalm 108:1-2 (KJV)
1 O God, my heart is fixed; I will sing and give praise, even with my glory.
2 Awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early.

Psalm 112:1-7 (KJV)
1 Praise ye the LORD. Blessed is the man that feareth the LORD, that delighteth greatly in his commandments.
2 His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed.
3 Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever.
4 Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.
5 A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion.
6 Surely he shall not be moved for ever: the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance.
7 He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD.

Is your heart fixed? In translation, the word fixed means to be established, prepared, made ready, or to be certained. In nautical terms it means to be anchored. Trusting the Lord requires you to have your heart fixed so that you will not be persuaded to doubt. The Psalmist so trusted the Lord that he wanted to sing and give praise to God when he awoke early in the morning. He did not fear the day of what it may bring to him because his fear was only in the Lord and he knew that he was blessed. When your heart is fixed you “just” know that everything is going to be alright. You love the Word of the Lord because it gives you the assurance that you will be blessed. When your heart is fixed upon trusting the Lord it says that wealth and riches are in the house. So much so, that your life becomes the light in the darkness to those who are around you. You are the one that is full of compassion, righteousness, and shows favor to others. No matter what circumstances or set-backs you may experience you do not drift too far with worry and fret because your heart is fixed. There is an old song that says, “I’ve anchored my soul to the rock Christ Jesus.” Praise ye the Lord, your heart is fixed, and you are blessed. Blessings flow to those whose heart is fixed, trusting the Lord.

Romans 8:38-39 (KJV)
38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

The only thing that is missing from Paul’s list is “you”. There is nothing that can put a wedge between you and God but “you”. The Lord went all the way to Calvary to show how much he loved you. He reached down into the darkest moments of your life and shined a light so you could find your way out to where you are today. You are under the shadow of the Almighty and there is nothing that can pluck you from the hand of God. You can never be separated from his love but you can ignore it, trample it under your feet, and refuse to accept it but why would you want to do that? There is nothing like the love of God. Calvary was the result of his love but the story of Jesus washing Judas’s feet right before he was going to betray Jesus shows us all how we are to love humanity. It is an unconditional love. Jesus bowing down as a servant washing the feet of Judas was Jesus’ final attempt to show Judas how much he loved him. Jesus loved Judas but his act of betrayal started Judas’s downward path away from God. The Lord is so merciful and full of grace. There is nothing that Jesus would not do to bring you into the fullness of his light that shines with brightness and warmth. Today show the Lord how much you love him. There are so many blessings under the shadow of his love.

1 Peter 2:9 (KJV)
9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

Do you really understand who you really are? You are a chosen generation in which God is going to do great things before he returns to earth again. His blood flows through your veins by proxy of Calvary making you a child of the King. You are part of a nation of people who follow after the teachings of Christ which is holiness of devoted worship. You are certainly peculiar. Anytime someone speaks of their faith and trust in a being that cannot be seen must be a little peculiar but really the translation for this word is purchased or possession.  We were purchased by the blood of Jesus Christ so that we would come out of darkness into his marvelous light. We are sinners that are saved by his grace and mercy. Reflect on where you were and where you are today. Sometimes we get so caught up with life that it becomes common ground and we think we have always had it this good.  But… we know better. If it had not been for his love to pay the ultimate sacrifice for your sins where would you be? He has shown so much compassion for us that we could never repay him. Nor does he ask us to. He only wants what is best for all of us and he made the way possible by nailing it to an old rugged cross. He not only forgave us of our sins but destroyed the root of sin. Be thankful today for all he has done. Receive your blessings today.
