Genesis 45:5-7 (KJV)
5 Now therefore be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that ye sold me hither: for God did send me before you to preserve life.
6 For these two years hath the famine been in the land: and yet there are five years, in the which there shall neither be earing nor harvest.
7 And God sent me before you to preserve you a posterity in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance.

The story of Joseph being sold into captivity is the best example of an individual going through many challenges, but God had a plan. Joseph in his time of captivity did not alter his integrity just because he had it rough. The Lord at every turn exalted Joseph. He exalted him to work in Potiphar’s house. Then in time the enemy threw temptation in his face, but he did not succumb to the wiles of Potiphar’s wife. Keeping his integrity, he was falsely accused and thrown into prison, but the Lord again caused him to be exalted. It was said that whatever Joseph did the Lord made it to prosper. You can be successful no matter what your circumstances are. Joseph did not have ideal circumstances, but he did have faith in the dream that the Lord gave him when he was a young boy. He believed in the commandments of God and lived them regardless of the situations or challenges he faced. When the opportunity came he used his gift to interpret dreams that awarded him the position of the overseer in the land of Egypt. He prepared Egypt for the famine that was coming. This position made it possible for his family to be taken care of during the time that famine would take many lives because of starvation, but the Lord gave Joseph wisdom to stock pile the right amount food. When Joseph saw his family, he understood why he went through all that he did just so that his dreams would come to pass, and his family be saved. Hold on to your dreams, hold on to your integrity, and observe the Lord opening the opportunities in your life. Do not let circumstances dictate your success. The Lord is walking hand in hand with you giving you every blessing you need to make it. Hold on to His hand and receive your blessings today.
