Mark 4:37-41 (KJV)
37 And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.
38 And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?
39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
40 And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?
41 And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?

Sometimes when you go through trials and problems it feels as if you are all alone. The disciples felt that way. The storm is raging, the waves are beating against the ship and the Master is asleep oblivious to the distress of the disciples on board. They were so afraid but at least they knew what to do, they called out to the Master. There are times that your faith is not strong enough to face the challenge but if you can always remember to call on the Lord, He is ready to help you in every situation. This story helps you to understand that no matter the trial or test you face, you do not need to be afraid. As long as Jesus is the Master of your life He will always be near to help you. This experience of the disciples teaches all of us that we could have enough faith to rebuke winds should our life be in danger. It is just a matter of having faith and exercising that faith to overcome any situations that pose as trials and tests. An individual’s life has been symbolically identified as a ship on the sea of life. Sometimes the sea is calm, and you are enjoying a peaceful journey. Then sometimes the waves become rough and you are not sure if you are going to make it. Never be afraid because the Master is on board. He will bless your life, you have the faith to speak to the storm. While it is calm receive your blessings to button down the hatches ready to meet the challenges on the sea of life.
