Psalm 26:2 (NKJV)
2 Examine me, O LORD, and prove me; Try my mind and my heart.

In life you are encouraged to have regular checkups with the doctor for your health and with the auto mechanic for preventative maintenance. It should also be true of your spiritual well being but usually this is a neglected process. It also should be the most important because it involves your relationship with the Lord and your life for eternity. The Palmist David wanted to make sure he was good standing with the Lord. He spoke of walking in the truth, disassociated his life from idolaters, did not spend time with hypocrites, hated the gathering of evildoers, and did not sit around conversing with the wicked. As far as David could see he could go before the altar of the Lord with innocent hands. He loved the opportunity to be in the house of God to worship and testify of His wondrous works. As far as he knew, He walked with integrity, so if there was anything in his life after the examination then redeem him and be merciful because he desired more than anything to stand sure footed among the congregation of the Lord. He wanted to make sure that his praise and worship came from a true heart. The request to be examined by the Lord is to make sure the path is clear in your relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. It is a time to gain greater intimacy with the Lord. Once all obstacles are removed it provides your life with a renewed sense of energy and a life fulfilled with joy and peace. As the blessings flow into your life you understand their purpose. Receive your blessings and continue to walk with integrity with the Lord.
