Luke 23:39-43 (KJV)
39 And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us.
40 But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?
41 And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.
42 And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.
43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.

Two different destinies. Jesus was nailed to a cross and placed between two thieves. One thief mocked and spoke evil to Jesus. The other thief rebuked the thief which disrespected Jesus. He understood that the punishment he was receiving was just for the crimes that he had committed. He also knew that Jesus was a man who had not done anything wrong and did not deserve the cruelty of the cross. In his humility he asked the Lord to remember him when he entered his kingdom. Jesus with compassion told him that this thief would be with him in paradise. Jesus saw his humility and confession of his sins, forgave him. The other thief had no remorse for what he had done and was not given the same promise. Two men who met the Master in a most unlikely setting had the same opportunity, but one chose to die in his sin while the other only hoped to receive forgiveness. What is your choice? To continue in your sinful condition or confess your sins and ask for forgiveness? Blessed is the man who hungers and thirst after righteousness for they shall be filled. You have made the right choice, receive your blessings.
